Mind Shift is a nonprofit staffing and placement organization. Our services are provided at no cost to candidates and families, and we partner with employers who share our mission of creating inclusive workplaces for individuals with autism.
Participation in Mind Shift Academy is also provided at no cost. It is a training and skill-building program designed to help individuals prepare for employment; however, candidates are not paid to participate in or complete the program.
Because of this model, Mind Shift does not function as a traditional job search or job placement service that identifies and secures highly specific roles based on an individual’s preferred field, degree, or long-term career goals. Instead, we work with a network of employer partners who come to us with defined roles that align with the strengths and capabilities commonly demonstrated by our specialists.
Our role is to thoughtfully match candidates to opportunities within our existing employer partnerships, where there is alignment between the candidate’s skills and the needs of the business. While we strive to place individuals in meaningful and growth-oriented roles, we are not able to guarantee placement in a specific field, title, or “ideal” position.
Additionally, completion of Mind Shift Academy does not guarantee immediate job placement, and timelines for placement can vary based on employer needs, role availability, and overall alignment.
For example, individuals with highly specialized degrees or career paths may not be matched into roles directly within those fields through Mind Shift, as our employer partnerships may not include those types of positions.
We understand that each individual has unique goals and aspirations, and we aim to support long-term success by identifying roles where candidates can build experience, confidence, and transferable skills. Our focus is on creating strong matches that lead to sustainable employment, meaningful work, and opportunities for growth within the scope of our employer network.
