JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-driven, consistency-focused team member to support the quality checking and preparation of pre-owned collectible model trains prior to listing and sale. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, repetitive work and takes pride in accuracy and thoroughness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Unbox and sort pre-owned train inventory (engines, cars, track pieces, accessories, small components).
• Quality check items against expected components:
  • Confirm parts/pieces are present and not broken or missing.
  • Check functional elements where applicable (e.g., doors open/close, wheels present/move properly).
• Clean and dust train cars/components carefully to prepare for sale.
• Organize and repackage items neatly after inspection.
• Document findings for the team (e.g., missing pieces, damage, notable wear) so listings reflect accurate condition.
• Follow a consistent inspection process/checklist to ensure quality standards are met each time.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong attention to detail; comfortable with repetitive, step-by-step work.
• Fine motor skills / dexterity and careful hand-eye coordination (items include small, fragile parts).
• Ability to work independently with a structured checklist/process.
• Comfortable sitting or standing for portions of the shift (role can be performed either way).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Interest in model trains/collectibles (not required but a bonus).
• Experience with quality inspection, inventory processing, sorting, or light cleaning/detail work.
