Tim Hanson, Board Chair
Tim started Specialisterne Midwest, now Mind Shift, in 2010 with the goal of tapping into the unique talents of people with ASD, like his son Joe. With the help of world-class board members and advocates, MindShift.works is achieving this goal for many talented young people with ASD. Tim is founder and CEO of Sherwood Forest, Inc., and lives with his wife Stephanie and four children in Hanover, MN.
Todd Lindberg, Board Secretary
Todd serves on Mind Shift’s board of directors and is the Board Secretary. He has been involved with efforts to bring Mind Shift (previously Specialisterne) to the United States since the beginning. Separately, Todd is the President of Sherwood Forest, Inc., a firm that helps companies save money.
Steve Kowalke, Board Treasurer
Steve has been working in finance and management consulting since 1980. As Vice President and Treasurer at Target Corporation, he had responsibility for the Financing, Banking, Investments, Risk Management and Tax divisions. After 25 years with Target, Steve formed 7 Peaks Consulting, which assists non-profit and for-profit companies in financial management, organizational design, leadership development as well as mergers and acquisitions. In addition to the position of Treasurer and Board Member of Mind Shift, Steve also serves on the boards of SonScape Retreats, and The Blessing House.
Josh Teigen, President
Josh is a serial entrepreneur who has been with Mind Shift from the beginning. He served on the Mind Shift Board of Directors for nearly eight years, before stepping in as President in January of 2019. Prior to this position, Josh spent time in venture capital and business development consulting. He then went on to found and run Protosthetics, as the President and CFO. Protosthetics is a medical device manufacturer and distributor in the prosthetics and orthotics market.
Mikki serves as an Emeritus Board Member for Children's Home Society and has been a part of that organization since 2001. As a professional, she has a long history of sales and marketing experience, last as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Zomax. Mikki believes that Mind Shift's model of creating self-sustaining business from the meaningful work of people on the autism spectrum is the "next wave" in creating a better world of work.
Since 2014, Tim has served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Anne Carlsen Center. He is Board President of the North Dakota Association of Nonprofit Organizations (NDANO), and has 30+ years of nonprofit social service experience. Tim, like MindShift, shares a passion for unlocking and maximizing the special talents of individuals on the Autistic Spectrum, to give businesses true competitive advantages.
Dan serves as Executive Vice President of Franklin Energy Services in Milwaukee, a firm he has helped build for 25 years. Franklin Energy is a national leader in the implementation of energy efficiency programs for utilities. Dan also serves on the Board of Directors for Midwest Energy Research Consortium and Disability: IN.
Craig is the Managing Partner for Korn Ferry in Minneapolis. Korn Ferry is a global organizational consulting firm with over 7,500 employees in over 50 countries. Korn Ferry is one of the most respected and successful recruitment process outsourcing firms in the world.
Eric has been a fixture in the non-profit world of North Dakota for the past 18 years. He served as CEO of the Anne Carlsen Center (ACC) for 8 years, retiring in 2017. Prior to his CEO role, he served on the Board of Trustees for 6 years. Earlier, Eric was a senior executive with Banner Health and its predecessor, Lutheran Health Systems. Under his leadership, ACC expanded services 10 fold. in 2019, Eric and his wife Pat established a fund through the Dakota Medical Foundation called “Live Like Rach”, named in memory of their daughter Rachel Ellingson. The effort is aimed at saving the lives of young people from colorectal cancer.
Larry is a native of Devils Lake, ND. He has successfully established and grown a number of businesses in North Dakota and Minnesota. Larry has been active in serving as one of the original Mind Shift board members. He and his wife Diane live in Grand Forks, ND.
Kelsey Terry is the Founder of Spectrum QA, a software testing company specializing in leveraging a team on the Autism Spectrum. She is the host of the growing podcast Hacking Autism heard around in over 20 countries. She regularly creates content on YouTube providing helpful guides to life on the Autism Spectrum as a woman in technology. She previously served on the Hope Station board for 8 years serving Orphans with Special Needs in China.
